SCHEDULE: Training will consist of a half-day of training combining lecture with laboratory work and discussion, from 9:00am – 12:30pm.

COURSE FEE: $125

 

CONTENT: This practical course is for non-scientists who are interested in gaining an understanding of how we detect COVID-19 and how scientists were able to develop a vaccine. The discussion will focus on RNA, mRNA, detecting small amounts of virus and viral particles, how the various vaccines were developed and how we can track antibody production in individuals. Participants will learn how to analyze real-time quantitative PCR data, which is the gold standard for COVID-19 diagnosis.
