This program features mobile kits of electrophoresis and photo-documentation equipment for use in two-week blocks at individual schools.To participate, teachers must attend field trips or workshops involving biotechnology laboratory work at the BTC Institute.
Generally, equipment can be checked out for two weeks at a time.
Listed equipment is free to loan, but you will be responsible for shipping costs. Often, face-to-face pick-ups and drop-offs can be arranged.

|Heat Block – Holds 20 tubes|
|Power Supply – Capable of running two gels @ 250 Volts|
|Horizontal Gel Box – With gel trays and combs (6, 8,10 and 12-well available for each)|
|Thermal Cycler – Holds forty eight 0.5ml tubes, requires mineral oil, does not have a 4°C hold (it is important to be present when the cycling is finished so that reactions can be moved to refrigerator or freezer), easy to program (manual included)|
|Tabletop Minicentrifuge – low speed, capable of 3000 to 5000 rpm|
|Microcentrifuge – higher speed, capable of 13,000 rpm|
|UV Light Box – for use with Ethidium Bromide, FOTOVision, or other fluorescent nucleic acid stains|
|White Light Box – for use with methylene blue stain|
|Small Vortex-style tube mixer|
