Emily is an instructor for the Youth Apprenticeship Program in Biotechnology at the BTC Institute.

Emily Torio (she/her) received her B.S in Microbiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with additional certificates in Global Health, Gender and Women’s Studies, and Stem Cell Technologies. She is currently a graduate student at UW-Madison, receiving her M.S. in Biotechnology. Emily has worked as a research scientist at Promega Corporation since 2015, within the Advanced Technologies group, mainly focusing on bioluminescent-based biochemical and immunoassay development.

Emily is a 2014 alumna of Dane County School Consortium (DCSC) Youth Apprenticeship Program in Biotechnology, where she previously worked in a biochemistry lab focused on protein production and purification for multiple years.

Emily is a member of the American Association of Clinical Chemists.
