Life Science Education Partnership

The BioPharmaceutical Technology Center Institute (BTCI) and FOTODYNE Incorporated, two Wisconsin-based organizations, established the Life Science Education Partnership (LSEP) in Fall, 2001. This partnership is an extension of a long-standing collaborative relationship between the two organizations and the teachers they serve.

Teachers can benefit from LSEP in several ways. One is through participation in co-sponsored hands-on biotechnology workshops. These workshops expose educators to common laboratory techniques and provide practical tips for bringing these techniques to the classroom.

Participating teachers can also take advantage of the Classroom Equipment Loan Program. This program features mobile kits of electrophoresis and photodocumentation equipment for use in two-week blocks at individual schools. One kit will be based at BTCI in Madison and the other at FOTODYNE in Hartland.

Another benefit to participating educators is the LSEP Price List, which provides 10-15% discounts on FOTODYNE Educational Products. In addition, a portion of all sales from this price list will be donated back to BTCI.

To participate in LSEP, teachers must attend field trips or workshops involving biotechnology laboratory work at BTCI. This partnership is availableto past attendees.

Summary of LSEP Features

  • Price list featuring 10-15% discounts on FOTODYNE Educational Products
