Content

Goals:

This practical course is for scientists, teachers, laboratory technicians, researchers and any others who would like to learn more about real time PCR reactions, how to analyze results, how to optimize each reaction and how to troubleshoot problems with the technologies.

Objectives:

Nucleic Acid Isolation Isolate and analyze nucleic acid for use in downstream
reactions
PCR Reaction Review end-point PCR as a comparison to real-time techniques
SYBR green Reactions Use SYBR dye to track amplification in a real-time reaction
Discuss primer design, optimization and analysis of data and be
able to do these things for your own experiments
Multiplexing Use various reagents for more specific experiments; learn how
multiple fluorophores can be used to allow researchers to
amplify multiple products in one reaction
