This includes course materials, lab supplies, snacks and lunch while at BTC Institute. Participants are responsible for their own lodging, transportation and dinner arrangements; a list of recommended hotels is available.
Requirements:
- Eligibility: No prior knowledge of proteomics is assumed. Basic computer literacy is required, as are stated interests in receiving broader training in proteomics, sample preparation, mass spectrometry instruments and data analysis.
- Admission to the course will be on a first-come, first-served basis, and applications will be accepted until the course is fully enrolled (limit 24 students).

Content
Goals and Objectives:
During the course we will:
1. Work through protein purification and preparation techniques - In-gel digestions, in-solution digestions and sample clean-up.
2. Show you how to prepare proteins for analysis on UW-Madison's mass spectrometry instrumentation and how the instruments work.
3.Work through data analysis problems with student-generated and pre-generated data.
4. Present exciting work that's being done in the field of proteomics at UW-Madison as examples of why these techniques and technologies are important.
Technical Program:
In general the format for each day will be equally divided between lecture and lab time. A schedule is available below.

Cancellation
- If you have registered for a workshop but cannot attend, you may transfer the registration to a colleague within your organization, or you may transfer to another scheduled workshop within 12 months of the original. There is no charge for transfers.
- For cancellations made more than two weeks before the start of the workshop, you will be refunded the tuition fee minus a 5% fee.
- For cancellations made within the two weeks prior to the workshop start date, half the tuition will be refunded.
- No refunds will be made for non-attendance or withdrawals after the start of each workshop.
Note: BTCI may cancel or postpone any workshop due to unforeseen circumstances. If this occurs, we will provide full tuition reimbursement. We are not responsible for any related costs, charges, or expenses including imposed penalties by airlines, hotels, or travel agents.
